A New Forum

The Forum

Thanks to y2bd’s mad wordpress skillz [Ed: and SB's incessant nagging], This website now has a forum for the discussion of Minecraft.

As a Minecraft forum, we hope to provide a more organized and pleasant experience to the Minecraft community. The forum covers everything from custom maps to servers, and more! Hopefully, you will find all the things about Minecraft where you expect them to be.

The Nopefully forum section exists to address the Nopefully community. Feel free to drop a suggestion or ask a question there!

Last but not least, we are going to be accepting community content for the Nopefully blog. That’s right! You can write an article that will be on the front page of Nopefully! Simply write an article about anything regarding Minecraft, whether it be a review of a map or fan-fic, in the appropriate forum board, let the community and us review it, and get it published.

The Oasis

This map was a short and sweet adventure about travelling across the desert (or is it dessert?) to save one’s village from a dry well. The map is a dessert (definitely dessert) themed one with attractively designed buildings and landscape. It is clear that the map builders, ChunkyCraft, paid a lot of attention to detail.

The puzzles were easy enough to not distract from the plot of the adventure, although it did pulled the generic parkour/maze combo once. One of the most stunning parts of the map was a rock, papyrus, sword (rock, paper, scissors) puzzle game that involved a piston wall displaying the enemy’s choice and dispensers that shot out maps with notes responding to the player’s victory or defeat in the game.

Race For The Wool!

So yesterday, SB, I, and around thirteen other people joined up on a Minecraft server and played a fun little round of Race For The Wool. If you don’t know what that is, it’s a custom Minecraft multiplayer map made by Vechs, whose claim to fame is the Super Hostile map series, and the Capture The Monument genre in general.

To be specific, we played Vechs’ second RFTW map, titled Direct Fire, which apparently focuses a lot more on combat than his previous RFTW map.

General Update 02-14-12 (Happy Free-Chocolate-Not-Candy Day!)

Hello everyone! I haven’t added a new post in a while, so I decided that a general update in order. My internet’s being a bitch right now, but hopefully I’ll be able to get WordPress running and get Grooveshark playing some music so that I can write. Let’s begin!

Well first, general channel status. We’ve passed one thousand subscribers (yay), and over four hundred thousand total video views! Sadly though, a lot of those views are embedded, so channel-wise we have ~16000 views only, sadface. Oh well, it’s all good!

Now videos! I just released another ‘minecraft’ video (those are always fun, tips our ratings and we lose a few subscribers ^_^), and I have the next episode of Doctor Eastrange ready to go. That trailer was actually really fun to make, and I’d totally love to make another one. Anyone have any good maps that haven’t gotten their dues? We’re always looking for content. Oh, and we’ve finished our stock of ‘Pupmkin’ Prince, so we’ll have to finish the map before SB makes any more videos of it. I hear we’re pretty close to the end, so I guess we’ll just need to find a quiet day to clean it up. Continue reading
